Swami Vidyanand
Founder & President Yoga Alliance International
Swami Vidyanand is a renowned yoga master from India. He is the founder and spiritual head of SriMa International School of Transformational Yoga® and the Founder and President of Yoga Alliance International® (YAI), World Yoga Federation® and Meditation Alliance International® (MAI) spread over all continents. Swami Vidyanand developed the Transformational Yoga, a new yogic system that synthesizes techniques of hatha, white tantra, raja, mantra, astanga and kundalini yoga to bring about rapid transformations in practitioners.

Bala, the Founder and the Chairman of Hatha Vidya Gurukulam, hails from Thrissur district of Kerala in India. His journey on the Path of Yoga began in Yoga- Vedanta Forest Academy, Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh, where he attained the basic training in Yoga. After which he took to extensive traveling through the expanse of Northern India, exploring his way to seek the truth. Fortunately, he came across some of the eminent masters who imparted him the wisdom to experience the true essence of Yogic journey. Having bathed in this light of wisdom, his thirst was catalyzed for more. So, he associated himself with the traditional Yoga centers of high reputation namely Kaivallya Dham, Lonavala, Bihar school of Yoga etc. In 2006 he met his Guru H.H.Srividyamba Saraswathi of Tamil Nadu and received initiation into Naatha tradition. Under the tutelage of his Guru, in 2008, he established Hatha Vidya Gurukulum at Thrisssur, Kerala in order to impart training to Yoga aspirants from all Walks of life.
In 2009, under his chairmanship Thapobhoomi, a residential Yoga centre was established on the banks of the Gayathri river at Pazhayannur in Thrissur district of Kerala. Its Publication division started in 2010. ‘Hathavidya, a quarterly in Malayalam, exclusively for Yoga and Tantra, is being Published under his editorship. In order to augment the science of Yoga and related training, among school children , he has authored live books on yoga training , adopting scientific methodology . These five texts are envisaged to cover four stages of Yoga Practices, aptly titled ‘The DroPs’, ‘Blossoms’, ‘In the Mould’, ‘Progress’ and ‘Metamorphosis'.
In December 2012, Bala established the first International wing of Hatha Vidya Gurukulam, in Dubai, UAE .
